Father Elkin Montoya from La Palma visits with SADCO

Father Elkin Montoya visits with SADCO Father Elkin Montoya from the town of La Palma, Cundinamarca, Colombia, visited with SADCO and shared his experiences working with rural communities deeply affected by violence in Colombia. Father Elkin presented moving stories about the struggle and adversity that a lot of families have gone through during the past ten years. Father Elkin runs several programs that include an Elderly Care project and a program committed to improving the lives of orphans and very poor children. SADCO made of $500 for his children care program.

The Our Lady of Mount Carmel (OLMC) School and its Student Leadership Team, which raises funds for a social cause, decided to donate school supplies for about 70 kids of Father Elkin's program in La Palma. SADCO will coordinate the delivery of this generous donation. OLMC's Leadership Team program is titled "Kids for Kids" and, after exploring several options, selected Father Elkin's program as the recipient of their project donation. Thanks to OLMC's Student Leadership Team for this wonderful and moving act of solidarity with children in need in another far part of the world.
