Choral Concert on Sunday October 10th at the Cristel DeHann Fine Arts Center of
the University of Indianapolis at 2:00 p.m.Please spread the word, invite family, friends, customers, and neighbors as this is a very high quality event at a wonderful venue. We hope you can go with family and friends. It will feature a Colombian Soprano (Patricia Caicedo coming from Barcelona, Spain) accompanied by Mexican pianist José Luis Hernández and the Indianapolis Children's Choir. It will be fabulous.

Music Recital Captivated Audience
SADCO celebró un gran Recital de Música Colombian en celebración del 20 Aniversario de SADCO el día 21 de Agosto del 2004 en la Biblioteca Pública de Carmel, Indiana.. Con una asistencia record que colmó todas las sillas del auditorio, los asistentes disfrutaron, junto con familia y amigos, de melodías típicas Colombianas excelentemente interpretadas por el grupo Remembranzas. Gracias a todos los asistentes y sentimos que muchos no pudieron conseguir tiquetes. Se está preparando un DVD de este recital para que usted pueda recordar y ver esta estupenda presentación.

As Always, SADCO rocked at Fiesta Indianapolis
Once again SADCO was present at 2004 Fiesta Indianapolis Festival, Bridging Cultures. And as always, SADCO's booth was lively full of crafts, richest Colombian Coffe, delicious pastries, and wonderful people. Our cultural section was also highly visited. Thanks to all of you who helped and volunteered to be part of this important fund-raising event.
SADCO estuvo nuevamente presente en la edición 2004 del festival Fiesta Indianapolis. El booth de SADCO estuvo, como siempre, colmado de bellas artesanías, exquisito Café Colombiano, deliciosos postres y gente maravillosa. Nuestra sección cultural estuvo igualmente bastante visitada. Muchas gracias a todos aquellos que nos visitaron y, especialmente a aquellos que donaron su tiempo y talento en forma incondicional para ayudar en nuestro boot. Muchas gracias.

SADCO member receives high honor at Butler
SADCO member Dr. Roberto Curci was installed as The Eugene Ratliff Endowed Chair in Finance at Butler University. The Eugene Ratliff Endowed Chair in Finance is the first endowed chair in finance at Butler University and the second endowed chair in the College of Business Administration. Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost Bill Berry comments on its significance, “The importance of endowed chairs to a university cannot be overstated. This chair will enable Butler University to honor a distinguished faculty member in the field of finance. That individual’s involvement with and impact on students, the university and the Indianapolis community will be a living tribute to Gene Ratliff.” And that individual is our admired member Dr. Roberto Curci.Butler President Bobby Fong presided the highly emotional ceremony. “There is no better investment in the future of our university,” says Fong. “We consider the choice to be a most fitting homage to Gene Ratliff, whose service to Eli Lilly and Company was only matched by his service to this university and the Indianapolis community.” Congratulations Roberto!!! |

SADCO's Board of Directors for the 2004-2006 period has been pointed. This group of unconditional volunteers will lead SADCO until July 2006 to set the path and drive the organization to continue to develop our social, educational, and cultural programs under the guidelines of SADCO's mission and vision statements. The toy theme this year is ”sets”. Suggestions are kitchen, tea sets for girls; train, tools, firemen sets for boys; doctor, magician sets for boys or girls.

It was initially created with the intention of celebrating the Independence of Cartagena as a small gathering of friends in Indianapolis. This celebration became so traditional and attended that it became an elegant gala party of more than 400 people. The party features a dinner and tropical Latin music dance.

It was an honor to receive the 2004 SADCO Scholarship. As I said before, SADCO is doing a beautiful job by supporting Hispanic students who have the willingness to continue their education. Personally, I thank you so much for granting me this award. This scholarship will help me tremendously. Diana Vazquez". SADCO established a scholarship fund to help Hispanic students attend college.
