This is a unique opportunity because USA Funds, the leading national education-loan guarantor, has agreed to subscribe the full cost of the dinner, thereby allowing the total amount raised from donations, sponsorships, the sale of tables, and a silent auction, to go entirely to fund scholarships. The Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF), will be the fiscal agent for the event.
Every year, around 700 Hispanic students graduate from Indiana's high schools. The main obstacles for those that excel academically and want to go on to college, is the high cost of tuition and the lack of financial assistance. Their only hope is to obtain scholarships, however, in the last four years the above mentioned scholarship programs, combined, have only been able to grant fewer than a hundred scholarships --truly a drop in the bucket--, thus, the need to raise more funds.
Granting scholarships that help Latino students to gain access to college education,is of great importance and carries a positive and significant social impact: college-educated Latinos will be better suited to fill the jobs of the new economy; will earn better salaries, improve their standard of living, and become more productive; will show other Hispanic students that it is possible to get a college education and will encourage them to follow in their footsteps; and, finally, these new professionals will make more important contributions to the economy and to the society of the United States.
Donations, sponsorships and contributions to the silent auction will be much appreciated. Please keep in mind that personal or corporate donations are 100 percent tax deductible, and the purchase of tables is also partially tax deductible. Tables of ten are available at the following levels: Doctor (Ph.D.) $10,000, Master(M.A.) $5,000, Bachelor (B.A.) $2,500, and Community $1,000. Each level of participation entitles individuals and/or corporations to receive a certain level of recognition in all printed materials related to the dinner.
We have a very impressive list of individuals in the Honorary Committee of the event (see complete list attached).
Your financial support is very important. You can send your check with your donation and/or the payment for your table to:
