Since its inception, SADCO has celebrated Colombian Independence Day, which is a Colombian holiday on July 20th. Every year, this special day is celebrated with a picnic in which all SADCO members and friends get together, honor the Colombian anthem, eat, and party with typical Colombian music.
The 2007 picnic to celebrate Colombian Independence Day will be held on Sunday July 22 at Forest Park in Noblesville, Indiana from noon to 6 p.m. The grounds open at noon, with lunch starting shortly after 1:00 pm. There will be special activities for the children and dancing for all ages, with music for all to dance. There is plenty of shelter space, so be there, rain or shine! For more information, contact sadcowww@iquest.net.
SADCO participates in the annual Fiesta Indianapolis, the largest Hispanic Festival in the city of Indianapolis. The festival helps Fiesta accomplish its objectives by creating a spirit of community and bringing every one under the same umbrella to share information, sell products, find services and celebrate and learn about Hispanic heritage. At the same time, the Festival produces resources that are used to invest in the development of the community.
SADCO has at least one delegate to serve in the Board of Directors of Fiesta Indianapolis, Inc.. SADCO brings a cultural and educational booth to the festival. During the festival, delicious traditional Colombian desserts and the great Colombian coffee are available to the public.
WANTED: Volunteers for Fiesta Indianapolis, coming up on Saturday, September 16, 2006 ! There will be music, cultural displays, food, dancing, and of course, Colombian coffee!
We cordially invite you to visit Fiesta Indianapolis web site and get to know more about this great festival.
Mark your calendar now for the annual Gala Dance celebrating "La Independencia de Cartagena" on Saturday, November 18, 2006 from 6:30 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. at Hyatt Hotel Downtown.
The Gala Dance and Dinner is one of the fund-raising activities of SADCO. It was initially created with the intention of celebrating the Independence of Cartagena as a small gathering of friends in Indianapolis. This celebration became so traditional and attended that it became an elegant gala party of more than 400 people. The party features a dinner and tropical Latin music dance.
For year 2006, SADCO has prepared a Sponsorship Packet that will let sponsors and individuals realize about the different ways they can get involved in this event and, most important, help in the development of all SADCO projects. Please visit the SADCO Gala Dance page to learn about sponsorhip options.

Novenas (December)
The Novena de Aguinaldos is one of the most taken root traditions in Colombia during Christmas time. With the celebration of this tradition, SADCO intends to preserve and cultivate the Christmas spirit amongst Colombians as they do back home in Colombia. Christmas means peace, happiness, children, remembrance. It is all the memories of the villancicos, gifts, candy, family reunion and the nativity set what drives SADCO to celebrate the Novenas from December 16 through December 24th every year. SADCO members get together every night to pray and sing along with family and friends.
Dear SADCO Members:
Receive the warm greetings from the SADCO Board of Directors, and our best wishes for spectacular holiday Season. At this moment, we all are busy preparing to celebrate family and friendships, getting ready to travel to far away lands to see our families or friends.
This year our volunteers were busier than ever and for that reason we could not organize our traditional Christmas Party, we are very sad because we will not see you this year but sometimes we need to face the reality of our scarce resources. We know that we have a large pull of talent out there in our membership on for this reason we are asking you to consider becoming a SADCO volunteer. If you are interested, please fill out the enclosed volunteer form and share with us your talents and desire to help our organization. Traditionally, at these events we have collected resources to send to the poorest children in Colombia, if you still want to do this, please write a check to SADCO and mail it to P.O. Box, 1141, Carmel IN. 46082.

SADCO holds ocasional cultural events by bringing Colombian and Latin American renown artists and musicians to perform both cultural and educational presentations at several venues. Art through all its different expressions is the best way to show the culture and heritage of our people and SADCO is concious of this important aspect.
